Frequently asked questions.

Full-Service Physical Inventory & Consulting

How often should my business perform a full physical inventory count? Best practices dictate a wall-to-wall physical count at least once a year, supplemented by regular cycle counts for high-turnover or high-shrinkage items. If you lack the internal staff or time, our expert onsite teams can handle your full counts efficiently so your staff can focus on daily operations.

Do we have to shut down our store or warehouse while your team counts? While counting during closed hours ensures the highest accuracy by preventing stock movement, we know business must go on. Our teams can schedule counts after-hours, overnight, or utilize strategic section-by-section counting to minimize any disruption to your customers and workflow.

Can you provide certified records for an audit or transfer of ownership? Yes. Since 1999, we have provided comprehensive inventory valuations tailored for ownership transitions, mergers, and financial audits. We have extensive experience working alongside major auditing firms—including Ernst & Young, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Deloitte—delivering the rigorous, audit-ready documentation you need for a seamless process.

My inventory process is highly unorganized. Do you offer strategic consulting beyond just counting the items? Absolutely. We offer direct facility evaluations and onsite assessments. Our experts will review your current storage layout, barcode systems, and workflows to identify bottlenecks. We then help you implement strategic improvements to drastically enhance efficiency and reduce long-term shrinkage.

Do-It-Yourself Counting: The ProCount App

I have thousands of items to count. How does the app speed up high-volume counting? Traditional pen-and-paper methods and clunky scanners slow you down. The ProCount App is engineered for speed with a dedicated Auto-1 toggle mode. When activated, it bypasses manual calculator entry, instantly logging a quantity of 1 and instantly resetting for the next scan, allowing for rapid-fire, continuous batch counting.

What if my products have both standard barcodes and QR codes printed right next to each other? Modern packaging can cause standard scanners to freeze or read the wrong code. To solve this, ProCount utilizes advanced machine learning scanning technology. The app features a seamless Scan Mode toggle, allowing you to instantly switch the camera's focus between Barcodes and QR codes so you always capture the right data.

What happens if an item doesn’t scan or the barcode is damaged? The app features a clean, streamlined UI that includes an easily accessible calculator popup. If a code won't read, you can instantly pull up the calculator for manual quantity adjustments without cluttering your main scanning screen or losing your momentum.

How do I get the counting data from the app into my POS or master inventory system? Data management is simple and reliable. Once your session is complete, the app generates a smart data export in standard CSV format, which can be easily imported into most systems. The export automatically combines any matching barcodes and QR codes to prevent duplicates, and includes precise timestamps for every single scan.
